Trend Report: Autumn 2017 Trends (Part 2)
Last week we shared with you the first part of the biggest trends for autumn and now we are back with more of the goods!
Read on below for Part 2 of our Autumn 2017 trend report:
Off-the-shoulder: The enduring off-the-shoulder favourite continues in popularity this Autumn 2017, by evolving to include off-the-shoulder knits in slim body-hugging silhouettes. This essential knit is a great vehicle for both solids and stripes and can be easily outfitted with trending denim.
Slip Dresses: This has to be one of our favourite trends for Autumn 2017. The slip dress is grungy, elegant and stylish all at once and is flattering for most figures and body shapes. Slip dresses are either mini or midi length, and are worn with heeled boots, layered jewellery and a structured jacket. Wear your slip dress in a silky or velvet fabric to really make an impact!
Jewel tones: Add a touch of glamour and luxe to your look this Autumn with stunning jewel tones! This season, rich jewel tones are seen in deep, saturated hues like blue, purple and green. Jewel tones look best in velvet materials or fluid silks emphasising the air of opulence that pervades this season.
Velvet: Add a little texture to your everyday look with a little velvet! This season it’s all about silky, high-pile velvets in shimmering midnight hues, pinks and jewel tones. Velvets are seen in flowing dresses, jackets and even camis!
The A-Line Skirt: Because this season’s trends are taking a step back in time, it’s no surprise that the A-Line skirt has made the list of the biggest fashion trends for Autumn. This style is one of the key shapes of the season with styles suiting all ages and fashion looks. The A-Line skirt is shown in animal jacquard, suede, brushed wool, beaded textures and metal grommets. Pair with a V-neck cami and heels for a night out, or rock with sneakers and a basic tee for everyday styling.
The Bomber Jacket: As we mentioned in Part 1, modern leisure is back, and one of the key styles for this trend is the bomber jacket. Carrying on from last year, this trend is casual and chic and can be easily dressed up or down. Choose styles that are either cropped, or boxy with rounded shoulders and those that are adorned with romantic appliqué or embroidery for a unique touch.
