Drink more water:

Did you know that ensuring you drink plenty of water throughout the day can do some amazing things for your body and your mind!

As we are made up of 60 percent water, every part of the body relies on water to function at its best.

Keeping that in mind, it’s important to ensure that you drink at least 8 glasses per day. You may need to drink more if you are getting physically active or if the weather starts to really heat up. Not only is water essential to rehydrate and replenish your body after an intense workout, it also hydrates the skin and supports healthy kidney function.

Too many of us are go go go throughout the year, so make a resolution to breathe!

Allocating just 10 minutes of deep breathing and quieting your mind each day can really do wonders for your productivity, energy and your overall mood. What’s not to love about that?

One of our favourite techniques is to sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and breathe in slowly to ten and out to ten. This deep breath instantly slows your heartbeat and calms the body and mind.

Try this when you’re in the car, or at the office and work gets a little stressful!

Eat clean foods:

A huge part of being healthy and fit is ensuring that you eat as clean and as natural as possible.

That means eating more fruit, vegetables, dairy, legumes and nuts that are not processed and that don’t have added nasties like preservatives or artificial flavours. You’ll be amazed at your increase in energy!

Get active with a friend:

There’s nothing that makes you want to hit the gym more than when you have a buddy beside you. Make a resolution with a friend, partner or family member and create a schedule that you can both stick too.

Once you’ve done that, make a rule that you will encourage the other person to workout even when they really don’t feel like it.
